The historic centre, the "old town", is a popular meeting place for strolling and shopping. The romantic winding alleys and the arcades of Bolzano create a special atmosphere. The numerous bars, restaurants and cafés invite you to a cosy chat with friends. Sights such as the cathedral, Piazza Walther or the man of the ice "Ötzi" in the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology and the fruit and flower market are located in the centre.

On 26 June 2009, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee inscribed the Dolomites on the World Heritage List of Humanity: Their scenic beauty as well as their geological and geomorphological importance were classified as unique in the world.
A day trip to the Dolomites is a must-do during your holiday in South Tyrol. Well-known towns and passes such as Val Gardena, Alpe di Siusi, Catinaccio, Latemar, Carezza with Lake Carezza can be easily reached by car in just 45 minutes.

Sellaronda
Experience the Dolomites up close

The Sellaronda is a circular tour that leads once around the South Tyrolean Sella massif and over the four Alpine passes: the Gardena Pass, the Campolongo Pass, the Pordoi Pass and the Sella Pass. The Sellaronda is actually known as a classic ski tour, but you can circumnavigate the Sella massif just as well by car, motorbike or bicycle.

Tip: Take the cable car to the 2950m high Sass Pordoi and make a detour on foot to Piz Boè, one of the easiest 3000m peaks in the Dolomites. Breathtaking mountain panorama guaranteed!

Renon High Plateau

From Bolzano you can take the Renon cable car to Soprabolzano for free with the WinePass guest card. From there, a leisurely hike leads to Collalbo to the famous earth pyramids. The panorama trail directly on the Corno del Renon is also a special experience. A fabulous 360° view of the Dolomites will certainly remain in your memory.

Merano
Historic spa town on the Passirio

The spa town of Merano, with its thermal baths, is an oasis of physical and mental health. Merano is characterised by extensive parks and green promenades, botanical gardens and numerous watercourses. The Arcades of Merano, the Merano Theatre "Kurhaus" or the historic "Steinach" quarter are reminders of old times. On Fridays, the lively weekly market takes place in Merano. The surrounding villages such as Scena or Tirolo with Castle Tirolo are also worth a visit.

Lake Garda

Riva del Garda is about 100 km from us and about 1.5 hours by car, depending on the traffic. It's also a great route for racing cyclists or sporty e-bikers. You can easily return to us by train in the evening.
