The cuisine of South Tyrol

But, will there be food?

Italian-Mediterranean cuisine meets Alpine culinary art. South Tyrol's cuisine takes the best of both worlds. Dumplings, noodles and spaetzle meet spaghetti, ravioli and risotti. This variety is what makes South Tyrol's cuisine special.

Culinary delights guaranteed.

There´s always time for a glas of wine.

Wine

No South Tyrol without wine...

Wine harvest

When you drive through the south of South Tyrol, you can't miss it: a real wine country. Hard-working farmers have been cultivating their vineyards with great joy for generations. Being a winegrower is not a profession here, but a passion. A journey of discovery through South Tyrol's wineries, cellars and vineyards is always worthwhile. And of course, a tasting is not to be missed. We ourselves are also winegrowers and cultivate our vineyards around the hotel with much love. Of course, a proper wine accompaniment is also part of a real enjoyment holiday on the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Our wine list with fine South Tyrolean wines will remain in your memory.

Advantages with the WinePass guest card:

Engage in conversation with the winemaker. Admire contemporary architecture. Taste wines in the vineyard. Over 60 experiences allow you to experience the South Tyrolean Wine Road with all your senses. You get a 50% discount on tastings and cellar tours with our WinePass guest card. More info here

The fifth season in South Tyrol

Törggelen

Chestnuts, wine & "Krapfen"

As soon as the grapes are harvested, the fifth season begins in South Tyrol: it´s "Törggele" time. This includes leisurely autumn hikes through golden vineyards, chestnut groves, picturesque villages and mixed forests, as well as a very special culinary treat: "Törggelen". From the beginning of October to the end of November, numerous wine taverns and inns open their farmhouse parlours. Typical "Törggele" delicacies include homemade "Schlutzkrapfen", dumplings, salted meat and homemade sausegas with sauerkraut, "Krapfen" (typical sweet doughnuts) and roasted chestnuts. This is served with grape must and young wine. We are happy to recommend you typical inns in our surroundings that invite you to a real "Törggelen". In addition, we also organise a weekly farmers' evening at the Hotel Sigmundskron in autumn, where we serve typical "Törggele" dishes.

From 2024: new infinity pool

Solar-heated, with infinity edge towards the castle Sigmundskron and a casual

hammock to relax in! Pretty cool isn't it? So the photos of the pool are no longer

up to date, and will be updated in March as soon as everything is ready.
